The Skyline Group is growing

A strategic decision to ensure the high quality of our service portfolio, including land transport, for our demanding global clientele. The next step, effective January 1, 2024, involves the acquisition and integration of the long-established freight forwarding company Leopold Ewald GmbH & Co. KG from Lage. “Everyone in Lippe knows their green trucks,” and as a specialist in long-haul transport, Ewald has already been working for the Skyline Group for many years. Due to the owners’ age, a move into the future was necessary, particularly to secure the long-term jobs of the employees and to continue offering customers comprehensive service.

The Ewald freight forwarding company has been operating in the East Westphalia-Lippe market for over 40 years – those familiar with the company will remember its time in Detmold and the name “Nordwest Spedition,” which was also absorbed into Ewald many years ago. Our company’s new website will soon present a history of this – www.skyline-logistik.de – and it’s well worth reading. The merger of two companies – strategically a perfect combination of local and long-distance transport, trailers, and articulated trucks – is, of course, a far more complex undertaking in practice. Belonging to the Skyline Group offers numerous additional opportunities, also for our employees – but mutual trust in our collaboration still needs to be built up over time. We’re giving this process time and are initially focusing on joint dispatching, currently located on Dieselstrasse in Lage. Later this year, we’ll be moving to the “Ostring Logistik” site, which will then house all our land transport operations. Our shared success motivates us, and only gradually will the vehicles be rebranded with a uniform new look over the years. Stay tuned… we’re always here for you personally.
