When did you start at Skyline and why did you apply?
My first day at Skyline was September 2, 2013. After completing my business administration studies with a focus on international trade, production, and logistics, and spending a semester abroad in Finland, I was determined to find a job where I could utilize my skills. I saw Skyline’s job posting in the newspaper and decided to apply. Air freight, sea freight, and a location like this – it all sounded very interesting! Now I’ve been with the company for almost ten years.
What are your responsibilities?
I work in the air freight department and am responsible for export and import processing. I also share responsibility for the trainees, as I hold a vocational training certificate (AEVO).
What do you like about your job?
My work is very varied, so it never gets boring. Furthermore, I have contact with customers and agents all over the world. Since becoming a mother in August 2021, the part-time model at Skyline suits me very well. I also really enjoy the work atmosphere. Everyone here is there for each other, and we all get a lot of enjoyment out of our work. The sporting events also contribute to this. For example, I participated in a triathlon in Hamburg with two colleagues, and we all mastered the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running with flying colors. It’s great when you have shared interests with colleagues, and these interests also promote health and team spirit.
How do you find the work atmosphere at Skyline? Friendly and collegial!
Why is logistics so exciting for you?
There’s always something happening, and you can make a real difference yourself. My work makes a difference, and I think that’s fantastic.
What are your career plans for the coming years?
I would like to pursue further professional development and continue to successfully balance my career and family life.
What tips do you have for potential applicants who would also like to start at Skyline?
Only those who are passionate themselves can ignite that passion in others. Be curious, open, and honest.
